As a UX/UI Designer at Amplify, you will be a crucial member of our design group, responsible for creating engaging and effective product experiences that cater to the needs of our energetic and enthusiastic learners and their teachers.
Working closely with a diverse and cross-functional product team of designers, product owners, developers, and curriculum experts, you will help enhance and expand Amplify’s digital curriculum, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in education technology.

Responsibilities

As a UX-UI Designer, you will have to fulfill the following responsibilities:

1. Collaborate closely with the Math Graphing and Design team to gather design requirements for math interactives.
2. Develop wireframes; interaction flows, mockups, and front-end design specs for math interactives based on needs.
3. Implement and iterate on established design style guides for math interactives.
4. Lead problem-solving and design to drive compelling user experiences and interfaces.
5. Think holistically and contribute to high-level product strategy.
6. Participate in and conduct collaborative discussions, including listening closely and providing honest, thoughtful feedback to colleagues.
7. Apply firm and effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening).
8. Prepare and present designs for review to internal teams and key collaborators.
9. Develop polished front-end designs for handoff to developers.

Basic Qualifications

For the UX-UI Designer, you have to fulfill the following qualifications:

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in end-to-end product design
2. Strong understanding of how qualitative research and data influence product and design decisions
3. Proficiency in visual design and typography
4. Expertise in interaction design and collaborating with engineers
5. Skilled in using Adobe CC, Sketch, InVision, and Zeplin
6. Familiarity with Agile methodologies
7. Experience in designing both desktop and mobile experiences

Preferred Qualifications

For the UX-UI Designer, we preferred the candidate with the following qualifications.

1. Experience with digital product design in educational technology or a related field
2. Enthusiasm for contributing to the landscape of literacy education
3. Experience designing with Accessibility as a priority
4. Proven ability to work iteratively with customers to gather and document user experience requirements
5. Formal education in Interaction Design, Communication Design, User Experience, or a related field
6. Experience with interactive motion design or games
7. Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
8. Experience and knowledge of high school-level Algebra and Geometry
9. Experience and knowledge of the Desmos Graphing Calculator
10. Any lived experience with teaching or tutoring students ages K-12
