Job Summary

At the forefront of this vision is our globally successful IntelligenceReveal solution. This suite of tools provides an analytics platform designed to deliver complex all-source solutions built on an open, mature, modern and flexible framework. This solution is used to analyse data from one or more sources, including open source data and the dark web.

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with experience testing high-performance, scalable, enterprise-grade applications for our national and international customers.

Working within small focused teams, you’ll work on some of the latest technologies to ingest millions of records per second into massively scalable data stores, and then analyse that data to provide actionable intelligence. Take action on You will be involved in contributing to system test decisions affecting the integration of current and future systems, including Big Data technologies and advanced security and threat detection systems.

You will join a strong development team, working in a relaxed, friendly but technically challenging area of ​​the business in our Guildford office. Depending on your skills, there may also be opportunities for client facing work, including travel in the U.K. and abroad. 

What you can do for us:

• Analysing test requirements, designing and developing reusable test scripts
• Overcoming development bottlenecks to deliver quality testing on time 
• Reviewing test artefacts developed by colleagues 
• Reviewing test results and requirements Modifying the test suite as per Functional specification analysis 
• Defining and creating test cases 
• Designing and implementing
•  performance test scripts, security tests and defining and implementing usability tests with client software 
• Explaining to engineers how their work will be, or has been, tested so that software engineers gain insight into the tester’s interpretation of requirements.
• Perform session-based (exploratory) testing where scripted testing is inappropriate or needs to be extended 

What background are we looking for? 

• You will have experience defining and developing test cases/scenarios from user stories and/or requirements. 
• You will work well in small teams, delivering high quality tests. 
• You will have experience investigating root causes of discovered issues and providing corrective actions – either individually or in collaboration with the development team 
• You will have experience with defect tracking and knowledge management software (Atlassian JIRA and Confluence preferred)

Required qualifications and experience 

• ISTQB Foundation Competencies Knowledge of testing methodology 
• Test case design and execution to meet functional / use case requirements (minimum 1 year) 
• Attention to detail and accuracy Excellent interpersonal skills
