Remote Software Engineering Manager Job

An early-stage firm striving to alter the way individuals discover, learn about, and buy home services is recruiting for a Software Engineering Manager. The chosen Software Engineering Manager will be in charge of promoting and assisting leadership at all organizational levels. The objective of the company is to deliver the data, technology, and software solutions required to digitally transform the home services industry across a wide range of trades and transaction channels.

Responsibilities of the Job:

• Collaborate with teams to deliver incremental value while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Support teams’ strategic work in collaboration with the product and design areas.
• Recruit, onboard, and maintain a diverse pool of outstanding employees.
• Coaching, mentoring, and managerial assistance can help to develop individuals and teams.
• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, goal-setting sessions, and feedback sessions with engineers to ensure their well-being and the health of the team, as well as to aid them in their learning and growth.
• Work consistently to increase the sense of belonging and inclusion on your team and throughout the organization.
• Keep communication, efficiency, and collaboration at high levels across all team functions.
• Encourage and promote leadership at all levels of the organization.
• Provide direction and align team members with chances to enable them to lead.
• You can help to constantly develop, expand, and establish strong support structures for the teams by driving larger organizational growth and cross-cutting activities with the rest of the engineering management team.
• Assist teams in identifying and developing their performance, reliability, resilience, scalability, and maintainable architectural skills.

Requirements of the Job:

• A minimum 5 years of expertise in back-end development in Go, MySQL, and microservices architecture
  experience forming and leading software development teams, as well as providing functional software
• Experience employing engineers who report directly to you and assisting them in their development through active coaching and planning.
• strong ability to create systems that meet architectural goals, such as reusable, scalable code.
• ability to adhere to best practices in software engineering for quality, observability, and monitoring.
• It is advantageous to have prior experience with AWS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and Terraform.
