Software Engineer, Data

Role As A Software Engineer:

We are seeking Software Engineer in UK to assist us in building data products and improving platform capabilities. The Auto trader makes data-informed decisions. We collaboratively discuss and build solutions, identifying areas and patterns to use our data, enabling users of our platform to meet their needs independently. We have teams working on various applications, from building core data platform capabilities to using insights to create exceptional user experiences for their customers.

We are on the cutting edge of applying data technologies to solve problems. As a Software Engineer in UK you can expect to work with various technologies, including debt, Kotlin/Java, Python, Apache Spark and Kafka.

Skills Required:

Software engineering skills (we don’t mind what language you have experience in, but you should be comfortable learning new tech and tools)

Experience with various continuous delivery methods for deploying, supporting and operating data pipelines

Experience working across the entire delivery chain from data to products.

You will understand data modelling and experience with data engineering tools and platforms such as Kafka, Spark and Hadoop.

Strong teamwork ethic, communication and collaboration skills.

Although not required, helpful experience includes:

Messaging systems such as Apache Kafka or Google Pub/Sub

Docker / Container Orchestration

Experience working with Google Cloud

We offer a salary of between £35,000 and £60,000 depending on experience and a flexible benefits package for your health and wellbeing. You will have 28 days of holiday per year, bank holidays and half-day closures at Christmas and New Year.
