Responsibilities:
- Write code for complex system designs, spanning multiple platforms; code to and/or create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for claims applications
- Write detailed technical specifications for entire systems (that are made up of several subsystems)
- Identify integration points.
- Review technical specs created by other developers.
- Participate actively in grooming sessions to help the technical solutions
- Report functional requirements and missing elements found in the system
- Explain impacts on the subsystem to team members
- “Scope” resources, time, etc. required to complete programming projects.
- Perform unit debugging and testing.
- Able to debug most program errors (simple and complex).
- Act as a technical leader to other team members and as a technical lead on some projects
Required Experience/Skills:
- 5 years of programming/ IT development/ coding work experience or equivalent combination of transferrable education and experience.
- Experience leading or mentoring other development staff
- Java development experience using Hibernate and Spring.
- Experience with timeframes and forecasting efforts for developing system capabilities
- Experience communicating technical and highly detailed financial information in a simple and concise way to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to communicate technical information articulately and clearly
- Experience with release procedures, unit testing, coding design, and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures.
- Understanding the systems development life cycle in-depth
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an IT field
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience with Java 8, MongoDB, microservice architecture, JPA(java persistence API), and/or messaging systems
- Experience working and management in the Healthcare industry
