Character Summary:

Work as a senior software developer within an agile software delivery team, involved in cross-disciplinary deployments to add value to business areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, build and run code using industry best practice. You will help define best practice evolution and support estimation activities.
• Contribute to the completion of your specific project. Your decisions will be important and will contribute to the overall success of the project and the wider programme.
• Perform first-line peer reviews and provide direction and guidance around reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of practice and code within your team.
• Provide technical direction within your team.
• Design and develop new product functionality.
• Contribute and develop test artefacts including unit tests and integration tests that will be part of the continuous delivery process.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential skills

• Previous experience working in an agile delivery team and developing and deploying applications to a production environment through a CI/CD pipeline.

Desired skills of interest.

• Java Enterprise Development using Spring Boot, JEE, Hibernate etc.
• Experience developing cloud services deployments using AWS or Azure with relevant professional certification
• Experience building enterprise-level web applications or services.
• Experience using TDD, BDD and gain a working understanding of SOLID.
• Docker / Kubernetes / GoLong Containerization and Orchestration (Developer)
• DevOps or DevSecOps principles
• Infrastructure as code (eg Terraform)
• Software application development using RDBMS (eg Oracle/MySQL) and/or unstructured persistence layers (eg ElasticSearch)
• Puppet / Chef / Jenkins / CI Pipelines
