Job description
AECOM has an attractive opportunity for a Senior Primary System Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution team in Sydney. The person hired will be responsible for working with and beyond the strong Transmission and Distribution Team and providing suitable business improvement, technical management, and delivering quality project results on time and on-budget delivery.
Responsibilities of Senior Primary Engineer
This position needs you to be responsible for the improvement of the substation HV system, features, and interface with other disciplines on design issues all over the substation structure, instrument rating, HV cables, layout, insulation coordination, earthing, and conduit designs.
You will provide the unique chance to work with one of our important customers who are about to set about on an aspiring major transmission works program of a scale not seen in the Australian electricity field in many decades.
Minimum Requirements for Senior Primary Engineer
- Have strong proficiency within a senior substation primary engineering position all over HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV ideally)
- Have project proficiency in NSW, Solar farm / Wind Farm connection substation proficiency.
- OEPM proficiency on substation will be perfect.
- Ideally have proficiency in the use of engineering software in the structure, adding fault level analysis, cable current rating, short circuit forces, lighting Lux, insulation coordination, earthing, EMF, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Authorized CPEng or working towards Chartership status with Engineers Australia.Â
- Prefer use of PowerFactory and ETAP proficiency is desirable
