In some roles you will also:
- Lead or work as part of a team to design and build electronic systems using a combination of COTS modules, bespoke components and software-defined hardware.
- * Evaluate electronic systems by examining code related to physical circuits, schematics, or hardware-specific languages.
- Use in combination – laboratory tests and measuring equipment – to perform analysis and testing of complex electronic and RF circuits and subsystems.
- Analyse and design defined software for wireless modulation schemes and digital signal processing techniques.

Responsibilities
If you are a person who has knowledge or experience in one or more of the following fields:
RF Design:
ARF Circuit Design and Implementation
o Hardware, Software and Firmware Design and Implementation
o Antenna Design and implementation
o Good understanding of analog electronics or digital electronics or RF comms for design or reverse engineering tasks.
RF Signal Processing:
o Digital signal processing design and implementation in software (C / C ++) and VHDL for SoC-FPGA
o Knowledge / experience of hardware detail languages such as. VHDL and / or programming languages such as C / C ++ / Python.
o Data processing and analysis RF tests and evaluations:
o Practical experience using electronics or RF testing and measuring equipment such as oscilloscopes / spectrum analyzer / signal generator
o Research and development, validation and validation of RF systems RF Scientists Engineers
o Experience and belief Oral testing experience –
Especially on aerial tests, bench testing, modelling and simulation.
Expert:
ARF spread
RF Scientists Engineers
o Modern modems and digital set work systems, especially SDR / software admirable modems and VSAT systems
o High capacity set work viewforms: DVBS2, QPSK, QAM
o set work signal processing and flexibility Techniques: Interleaving, CDMA, spread spectrum, error correction, etc.

Qualifications:
Required:
Candidates for this post should have experience or qualifications in the relevant STEM field such as:
Physics, Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics or any similar field.

Required:
Advanced Degree (MSc or PhD) in the relevant subject is required although we would like to hear from those with equal experience.
Important Information
Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires that our employees be UK citizens who are able to obtain a high level of security clearance to launch these projects to protect us from security threats. For this reason, only UK citizens will be able to apply for this role. This role would require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. Some roles will also require Developed Vetting, in which case you should have resided in the UK for the last 10 years.

Dstl is encouraging integrated and flexible work on one of our sites, either at home or in both. We want to empower you to perform your duties at the most suitable place for work, however you will be assigned a Dstl site as a basis. You may need to visit other Dstl and MoD sites as needed.
