How we work
Freedom and flexibility:
At Loom, we believe that work is an act, not a place. When we disconnect work from a site, we can adapt to many life possibilities. You have a choice to work from home or on the go. We can hire throughout the United States and continue expanding our international presence. And you can move freely within the country without having to adjust compensation.

Engaged Workday:
The key to an engaging workday is finding the right balance between different ways of working with sync, async, text, and video. Loom makes it easy for everyone to convey their message without having to schedule a Zoom meeting or struggling to find the right words. And using asynchronous communication allows us to free up time for deep work daily. We believe there’s a place for time sync – often, a Zoom conversation is just what’s needed. This “sync time” is usually between 9 am and noon PT for team meetings because the time zones where Loommates are located overlap.
Work-Rest Balance:
The way we balance the fast-changing demands of a fast-growing startup with sustainability makes rest a priority. We offer a flexible PTO policy so you can take time off when you need it. We are also fully offline for the summer holidays around the 4th of July and between Christmas and New Year. Rest is also part of the work day, not just during PTO. Taking time off for personal commitments, whether watching the kids or exercising, is a natural part of the workday.
Social connection:
Relationships and connections matter.
We intend to build trust and relationships through unique, shared experiences. Our virtual workspace keeps us connected daily through Looms celebrating a win or our buzzing Slack communities. Loommates can meet with their teams at least twice yearly just for fun. We’ve also built local offices for those who want to work or meet in person, starting with San Francisco and New York City.
