Remote-Based Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a Remote-Based Senior Data Engineer that can innovate, build, and provide data solutions and ingredients that solve banking business issues in partnership with digital channel groups, product owners, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities as  Remote-Based Senior Data Engineer

• Innovate unique data source models that can scale to fulfil developing business conditions, compliance with data security standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Comprehend and grab business necessities and document design approaches. Create data flows, ER diagrams and technical infrastructure artifacts to support development.
• Build cloud and in-house ETL solutions to consume data from numerous data sources.
• Put a batch and real-time operations to automate data refresh/synchronization between operating systems and reporting data sources.
• Deploy analytical models to data models to create dashboards that support functional, fraud management, and marketing needs.
• Lead and collaborate with a multi-functional agile squad to build and improve software
• Leverage CI and CD best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of data models and application code.
• Performance tuning of SQL scripts, database components of OLTP/OLAP applications and data solutions as needed
• Work closely with merchants, production support, database and framework parties to fix issues in real production systems.
• Supervise junior resources and communicate with offshore groups as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of technical work experience in application development, server administration, information security or engineering OR High school diploma or GED and 12 years of specialised work experience in application development, server administration, information security or engineering
• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• Must have an experience of  8 years in data engineering with an emphasis on architecture, integration, analytics, master data management, data governance and privacy.
• Must have an extensive experience with a cloud data environment is preferred – Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift.
• Experience with APIs – REST, legacy web services and SOA
• Some experience with data lake solutions, including Hadoop or Azure, preferred
• A good knowledge and command of tools like Databricks, Teradata, Netezza, and Informatica are recommended.
• Good experience with conventional data stores – MS SQL (preferred), Oracle, MySQL or DB2
• Broad knowledge  of SQL and  extensive experience with Python/shell a plus
• Experience with Agile SDLC and lifecycle tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Git, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI (preferred) or similar tools such as QlikView or Tableau
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, SharePoint and Teams applications is advantageous.
• Having a sound experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Projects is a plus.
• Experience managing a team of technical developers and testers and delivering enterprise solutions
• Experience in banking/financial industry, marketing or privacy projects preferred
