This is a sensational opportunity for a Lead Developer in London to join the Integrations and Systems Development team. As a senior member of this team, your responsibilities will be designing, implementing, and support of student administration services.

This senior technical role is suitable for someone with previous banner development experience. Experience working with other student records systems is also desirable. We are looking for a team player who is constantly learning and comfortable providing technical leadership and guidance to other developers on the team.

Daily you will be working with a team of 5 developers. You will also work closely with other IT services teams to implement new features and services and support the student administration’s day-to-day operations.

Role as Lead Developer:

As a Lead Developer in London, develop strategic and tactically significant digital solutions using multiple technologies.

Conduct source control systems to automate and build up delivery processes.

Lead the use of Agile Scrum techniques to develop services.

Enhance and share knowledge of specific technical areas as needed within the team.

Lead ongoing technical support and advice for services.

Lead the identification of accessibility needs and implement required quality solutions.

Mentor and mentor other technical team members by providing technical leadership and vision in the team’s software development approach.

Combat the development and exploitation of student systems across the organization by identifying our services’ new strategic applications and capabilities.

Initiate and manage research and development of new features and identify and upgrade their benefits to the organization.

Collaborate with other teams to share best practices, experience, and knowledge.

Join as a lead member of the team.

Collaborate with teammates to develop solutions, with the ability to communicate technical requirements to non-technical colleagues.

Work within and be part of developing team development standards and practices.

Stay abreast of technological practices and trends to improve working methods continuously.

Help the team identify possible solutions to user problems through Agile development methods.

Guide the development of student systems while ensuring consistency with specific requirements.

Establish policy and plan to select system architecture modules and coordinate design activities.

What we are looking for:

Meaningful and relevant software development experience under the Ellucian banner

Meaningful and relevant software development experience on the Ellucian Ethos

Meaningful and relevant experience in systems integration development

Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database, Oracle PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux

Experience with Oracle Apex

Experience developing and using web APIs.

Experience leading the design and execution of technical solutions

Experience with Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration processes

Experience using source control.

Experience writing and implementing automated tests.

Mentoring experience

Experience working with end users

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent analysis and troubleshooting skills.

A continuous improvement mindset.

ITIL awareness.
