CATS Colleges is a leading provider of pre-university academic courses and English language courses in the UK. We offer programs including A Level, IB and University Foundation as well as English language studies to the growing number of international students seeking a place at UK universities.

OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
As part of the IT Services Department, the primary objective of this role is to provide high-quality support services to the CATS Global Schools community. This is fundamentally a customer-facing role rotating within the schools and head office (based in Cambridge). Therefore, excellent social skills and a focus on quality customer service are necessary. Technicians will typically work as part of a larger team and will be expected to work independently for Level 1 support calls and BAU activities within the Support Service. Expected working hours will be specified in the contract, however, for guidance, these will be between 8 am and 5.30 pm, for example, 8 am to 4.30 pm or 9 am to 5.30 pm.
Key Job Responsibilities of Junior IT Technician in Uk:
Support functions
• Assisting onsite Senior/IT Support Technician to provide IT support function to staff and students.
• Proactively developing skills and seeking developmental advice, training and mentoring from more senior staff.
• To be responsible for developing my technical skills in each area of technology, under the guidance of my peers and line manager. Technical expertise is not required at this stage level, although technical experts will be encouraged to identify potential areas of interest where their development should be focused.
•Monitor, prioritize and resolve support calls from staff, liaising with IT colleagues and other staff as needed.
Escalate difficult or intractable issues to more senior staff. Where possible they should also engage in more challenging problem-solving activities to improve their experience and develop their skills.
• Provide high-quality technical support across a wide range of technologies to CATS Colleges employees.
• Will be required to work from time to time and provide remote support to meet the needs of a rapidly growing international organization spanning multiple time zones.
•IT “business as usual” (BAU) routine operations and checks such as backups and status checks, printer operations, and other reactive or proactive support and maintenance necessary to ensure infrastructure stability, security, and performance. Complete the tasks.
Ensure all documentation is maintained to the highest standards.
• Ensure digital security and safety of staff, students, systems and data at all times
• As part of the apprenticeship, they will be expected to spend 20% of their time on their apprenticeship portfolio and studying for their apprenticeship exams.
