IT Technician – Greenford | Part-time – (Flexible)

IT support in UK

Role Purpose:

To provide high-quality, face-to-face IT service to students and staff based on one of the GBS campuses.

Key Responsibilities of IT Support:

Escalate, respond to and complete IT tickets raised within the service management system, which may include: providing support in the use of computer hardware and software supplied by GBS; Providing printing and support for the production of ID cards. Providing technical assistance in transferring and organizing audiovisuals. IT equipment as required. Configuration and configuration of PC/Laptop equipment with the necessary operating system to install software and drivers where necessary.

Troubleshoot, and diagnose problems, implement corrective action procedures within recommended guidelines, and escalate to other technical resources as appropriate. Collaborate with team members to solve complex and routine computer problems. Conduct one-on-one computer training on technology as needed. Support with password issues. Follow best practice guidelines to ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems. Be able to perform tests and evaluations on new software and hardware. Ensure maintenance of records/logs of equipment on loan, repair and maintenance, and maintenance schedules. Provide familiarization and guidance to users on utilizing new software and computer equipment. Providing general administrative support such as printing, filing, processing, and gathering information as required by the IT department. Providing customer support and being the first point of contact for error reporting, escalating tickets as needed. Travel between campuses may be required to meet department requirements.

Please note that you must be able to work a flexible 20-hour week and weekend.

Skills Required for IT Support in UK and Technician:

As a IT support in UK and IT Technician you have a Good Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles (CompTIA Network+/CompTIA Security+). Experience in operating systems and software installation, computer networks, network administration, and network installation. Experience providing IT support in UK remotely (via phone, online chat) and in-person Knowledge of service management systems and ITIL best practices. Knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems. Knowledge of programming languages ​​and operating systems (MS Exchange, Active Directory, and other Windows-based systems), current tools and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and implementing, configuring, and system performance monitoring solutions. Knowledge of giving and testing.
