Responsibilities-IT Specialist Job

• As an IT SPECIALIST, you will act as a systems administrator for the less complex systems.
• You will be responsible for executing and troubleshooting system performance.
• Must report unresolved problems to a higher-graded System Administrator.
• You have to help other system administrators troubleshoot problems and execute changes on the more complex systems.
• Bring modifications, test and execute system backup and recovery strategies for assigned system.
• Find out different system failures to separate the source of problems between equipment, system software, and application programs.

Requirements

• As an IT Specialist, it is required to complete a probationary period.
• Must take part in direct deposit is mandatory.
• You must be able to maintain the proper security clearance.
• Must complete proper training and get required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level.
• Within six months of employment, all certifications are required.
• Must maintain a SECRET clearance level.
• Sometimes irregular and overtime hours may be needed to support operational requirements.
• This position is designated within the Defense Cybersecurity Workforce as guided by; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education.

Qualifications

• You must have experience, education, and training that has provided a basic knowledge of the data processing function.
• Must have working experience as a computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, and other positions that require computer programs and systems.
• One year of experience at the GS-07 level needed
• At least 24 months of experience, education, or training in analysis of the interrelationship of relevant system components are required.
• Working experience in planning the actions required to accomplish the assignment.
• Must have working experience in scheduling programs to be processed by computer.
