We are a leading IT service provider in the education sector. We require an IT Manager in Abingdon to fill this core role, supporting IT within one of our partners in area.
It’s an exciting time to join CTS, a company that puts engineering excellence first. An IT Manager in Abingdon is one of our core roles within our partner schools and is key to the success of our managed IT service delivery.

Our requirement is for a manager who has some background in supporting substantial infrastructure and networks using Microsoft technologies. As a manager, you will work daily with a team of dedicated professionals in an educational environment. You will also get external support from our experienced seniors who are never away, either remotely or as a planned site visit. Working as a valued member of the CTS team you will have ample opportunity to advance your career in academia while primarily involved in administration and troubleshooting in a Microsoft environment.
You will be running the help desk onsite daily and working with the customer providing first and second-line support, so hands-on experience is also essential.
Responsibilities as IT Manager:
Running the service desk and resolving 1st-2nd line support calls and ensuring that all calls are handled by your team members.
Assist and maintain infrastructure within the school/college to ensure maximum uptime
Ensuring you keep senior engineers and the CTS Help Desk team aware of any issues that need to be raised and escalated – we’re looking for someone who can, but someone who Looking for someone equally willing to move on.
Working with your account manager and senior engineer
Support and manage key infrastructure projects in partnership with your CTS Senior Engineer.
You will be the link between the client and us – you are the face of CTS within the school.
You will manage your team’s daily workload, ensuring you get the best out of them.

The successful candidate should have a good standard of education and sufficient relevant experience. Prior experience in an academic environment is desirable but not required.
