The Responsibilities of a Head of IT & Operations:
Accountable for strategic planning and delivery of operations and systems to enable common processing, effective outsourcing of services, business continuity, and operational flexibility within the business.
As a Head Of It & Operations in London Engage with relevant stakeholders to understand business needs and develop a comprehensive transformation program to meet current and future business needs.
Identify, assess, engage, and manage third-party stakeholders capable of providing information and expertise necessary to integrate business systems and processes to improve performance and design and implement effective management information dashboards. can be provided.
Contribute to the Bank’s leadership with a dedicated and singular focus on execution and delivery.
Represent the Head of Operations function on the Executive Committee (Ex Co) and ensure that accurate expert information is provided to inform the Committee as per agenda requirements.
Ensure business transformation plans are delivered in line with Ex Co level directives.
Coordinate management efforts of various operational areas to ensure minimal duplication of effort, maximum efficiency, and value for money.
Balancing resources between different sectors Head Counting and reallocating budgets, but within the overall approved resources for the year.
Contribute to the development of business unit strategy by evaluating potential improvements to services and anticipated changes in the current situation and external environment.
Sign off on capital expenditures within budget. This includes approving purchase and sale decisions of desktop computers, laptops, office equipment, etc.
Analyze the effectiveness of processes and systems commonly used by the bank and recommend corrective action or automation.
Review performance against the Business Plan as recommended by the Board and agreed in the Ex Co, discuss gaps and agree on an action plan to close the gaps.
Benchmark department productivity against industry standards and take steps to improve productivity.
Serving/participating in various committees including Ex Co, ALCO, and Operational Risk and Conduct Committee
Ensure the development of a high-performing team by embedding formal performance development and informally coaching direct reports on how to effectively drive the process.
Ensure capacity planning and project planning to identify resource requirements.
In support of HR, interview and recruit direct reports and provide support to your teams during recruitment on request.
The Head of IT Will Have:
- FOR A Head Of It & Operations in London you have minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in operations management/senior level management within financial services, or in a banking environment.
- Experience with outsourcing, business continuity/operational flexibility, project management, risk management, cybersecurity, and information technology infrastructure. A thorough understanding of banking operations is essential in a highly regulated environment.
- Good understanding of regulation and compliance within organizations authorized by the FCA and PRA. Small organization culture and comfortable with speed. Cultural fit, hands-on practical/practical approach.
- Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
