Description

This is one of the great opportunities for Cyber Security Engineer in Belfast to join a team of cyber security professionals who play a critical role in protecting and defending the nation’s critical infrastructure.

The Sr Cyber Security Engineer in Belfast – Red Team, will be an integral member of the Cyber ​​Threat Simulation team. You will be responsible for participating in the network penetration testing process of internal and Internet-facing information systems infrastructure.

In addition, this role will be required to participate in red and purple team activities to identify misconfigurations and cyber security vulnerabilities that an internal or external actor could exploit to gain access to computer systems and data. It can be done to get authorized access.

Cyber Security Engineer

Responsibilities of Cyber Security Engineer:

Lead Purple Team exercises using automated tools, threat intelligence, and the MITER ATT&CK framework.

Participate in intelligence-based Red Team exercises to test cyber detection and response.

Build and maintain red team infrastructure automated functions where possible.

Continually research new offensive security strategies, techniques and procedures.

Develop custom tools and tradecraft to automate tasks and enhance team capabilities.

Conduct ad hoc penetration testing using industry-standard tools.

Participate in innovative social engineering campaigns to increase employee awareness.

Assist in generating reports using appropriate classifications to classify the severity and prioritize remediation.

Assist cyber defence teams during incident investigations providing subject matter expertise on attacker tradecraft and mindset.

Interface with other information security departments, technology departments, and business stakeholders to raise awareness of security issues and provide information sharing on remediation.

Coordinate with CME-affiliated third-party cybersecurity vendors to conduct objective assessments such as external penetration assessments, internal penetration assessments and indicators of compromise scanning.

Skills Requirements:

Experience with industry-standard raid teaming tools (Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, BurpSuite, NMap, Covenant, etc.).

Understanding of Purple Team concepts and tools

Experience measuring and classifying vulnerabilities based on key vulnerability characteristics.

Experience with the concepts and techniques of hardening Windows and Linux systems

Knowledge of advanced evasion and bypass techniques

Experience creating custom payloads for Red Team exercises

Experience with at least one of these scripting languages (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).

Experience with at least one cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Recognized industry certifications (GPEN, GXPN, GREM, eCPTX, except OSCP, OSWE, CISSP, CPSA, CRT etc.)

Experience with cybersecurity assessment reporting

Knowledge of industry security standards (i.e., ISO27002, NIST Cyber ​​Security Framework, etc..)

Working knowledge of ITIL (ITIL certification a plus)
