Ordnance Survey is currently seeking a Cyber Security Consultant in UK to join our team. OSHA is based in Southampton, Hampshire, but at OS, we believe that work is what you do, not where you go. We adopt a hybrid working model where we think the choice lies with the individual whether they work from home or our stunning offices in Southampton, London. You will join us on permanent basis, and in regards, you will receive a aggressive salary of £53,755 – £63,245 per annum.

Role As A Cyber security Consultant:
As a Cyber Security Consultant in UK Working with our other cyber experts, you will act as a “trusted advisor” by providing trustworthy cyber security advice and direction to internal and external teams at all phases of the project lifecycle. As a security consultant, you will add value to organizations’ security strategy development, which integrates functional requirements, technology reference models, security policies, and standards.
It plays a vital role in bridging the gap between risk management and the deployment of proportionate controls. You will be expected to provide expert and authoritative advice to project teams to ensure solutions comply with relevant security policies, reference models, regulations, and best practices.
You will ensure that project risks are documented, accepted, and transferred to closure. You will provide security validation support by advising, reviewing, and signing off test strategies against requirements. You will also play a central role in cyber education, awareness, and readiness across OS and our projects.
Skills And Experience AS a Cyber security Consultant:
Relevant experience working as a cyber security consultant
Consultation, influencing, and evaluation skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders
Ability to explain and deliver training exercises, workshops, presentations, and briefings
Knowledge of delivering and maintaining compliance and security standards – such as ISO27001, PCI-DSS, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Working knowledge of cyber platforms – such as SIEM, WAF, Malware Defenses, and IAM
Technical understanding of information technology systems and architecture, including cloud computing platforms such as Azure and AWS
Knowledge and understanding of security risk concepts and principles, with the ability to articulate cyber security risk to stakeholders.
Formal Cyber Security Certification – CISSP, CISM, or related degree
You may also have:
Experience in scoping and managing risk assessment and remediation actions
Experience working on competitive bids, proposal development, and procurement
Experience working on implementing identity and access management services.
