You will be responsible for:

With primary responsibility for ensuring the security, accuracy and delivery of our systems and services. The post holder will, through monitoring, assessment and in collaboration with the Head of Information Security Management and the Network and Security Manager, carry out cyber security activities within the University and the University’s IT facilities and information risks related to internal and external threats. In addition, the post holder will be expected to identify and mitigate relevant cyber threats, investigate incidents and raise awareness of the importance of information security and ongoing legal, contractual and regulatory compliance. Will actively engage with the Information Security team to work closely with stakeholders to maintain Cyber Security Analyst

Entry Requirements:

120 UCAS points EPA apprentices must achieve GCSE maths and English at grade C to attempt through A Level or equivalent – you can still enter the program but by starting Gateway and EPA Evidence of Level 2 Maths and English proficiency must be provided first. 

Non-standard entry requirements

 A good GCSE profile is expected with English language and maths at a minimum grade C (or equivalent recognized by the university). Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths must achieve this before taking the endpoint assessment. If you have studied for a new GCSE for which you have achieved a numerical grade you will need to achieve at least grade 4. 

Informal interviews

Where informal interviews will take place. Candidate’s eligibility is doubtful and further evidence is called for. The candidate presents an exceptional set of taken or pending qualifications, and a suitable conditional offer needs to be determined Cyber Security Analyst. Candidates may require advice on program suitability. Applicants invited for an informal interview will always be informed of its purpose. 

End point assessment

You must be able to provide evidence of Level 2 English and Maths before starting your endpoint assessment. You can still start the program without them but qualification is required to start EPA. 

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience that demonstrate the minimum foundation required for the program. In this instance you may still be considered for the program. 

If you hold the international equivalent of the above qualifications, you must be able to provide an official document at the time of your application showing how your international qualifications compare to UK qualification

Working week

37 hours per week. 

Future Prospects

92% of QA apprentices get permanent employment after completing their apprenticeship. There may also be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as many of our programs offer ongoing development tracks.

QA apprenticeships are funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education. 

To be eligible for a Government Funded Apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years.
